New Features

1. Planning and Analytical Component New Features

1.1. Export To Excel

Integration with Excel has been enhanced with a new option "Export with Filter Values" which will export in a format very similar to the Perspectives "Snapshot" feature or PAX "Custom Report". This option will export with the cube name in cell B1, followed by the dimensions which are on filter listed in column A and the corresponding filter elements in column B. Following the filter section comes the placement of the "cross-grid" of tabular data.

The 2nd option exports the table only (with row and column headers) without any additional formatting. This is also the format which works best with the new load from Excel feature.

1.1.1. Export with Filter Values

1.1.2. Exporting a Plain Table

1.2. Load From Excel

Apliqo UX now includes the feature which can be enabled on a view by view basis allowing for data entry directly from Excel. To use this feature just click on the "Load from Excel" button and select or drag an Excel file onto the canvas. The load from Excel feature assumes a match between selected filter elements of the view and the Excel file and a match in the row and column dimensions . The component will automatically match the row and column headers with elements and load the data to the cube (assuming writeable leaf elements are selected).

If the selected Excel file matches the row & column layout of the cube view then the component can be used as is with no coding or customization required.

If the Excel file contains additional elements such as blank "padding" rows or columns, hidden rows or columns or display header names not matching the dimension elements (or aliases) then this can also be quite easily accommodated but will require some customization via java script.

1.3. Native PA/TM1 Drill

Apliqo UX now supports native TM1 drill functionality. For any cell which has a valid drill-assignment rule defined it is possible to execute the drill-through which will be displayed in a table PopUp window. If the drill is relational then the result of the drill will be presented as a static table. If the drill target is a TM1 cube view then filter dimensions and elements will also be displayed with the possibility to drill-down on consolidated elements on rows (columns are static).

To execute a drill-through hover the mouse over a cell (or single tap for touchscreen devices). Three small dots will appear at the right border of the cell. Click the dots button to expand the cell context options. If drill-through is available then "Drill" will be shown in this context menu. Click on the Drill option to execute the drill-through. (If multiple drill paths are available then clicking Drill will activate an extra menu level to select the name of the drill process to run).

1.4. Cell Commentary Support on any cell

Apliqo UX now supports native TM1 cell annotations. To enter a cell annotation (comment), hover the mouse over a cell (or single tap for touchscreen devices). Three small dots will appear at the right border of the cell. Click the dots button to expand the cell context options. Click on the Comment option to launch the Cell Comment PopUp Dialog.

If a cell has existing annotations this will be indicated by a red triangle icon in the top right of the cell. This is consistent with the indicator for cell commentary in other TM1 interfaces and in Excel so should be familiar to users. Where a cell has existing commentary the dialog will show a history of the annotations with author, time stamp and previous comment value. Writing a new comment does not clear any existing annotations.

Both the new Cell Commentary and Drill-Through features can be enabled or disabled on a view-by-view basis.

1.5. Stacking Dimensions on Columns

The UX table component now supports stacking of column dimensions within a single / Multiple sub-views.

1.6. Freeze Panes

The table component now offers row and column header locking options for larger tables which gives a smoother browsing experience for users similar to freeze panes in Excel.

1.7. Headers Description

Tables offer the ability to group columns by any attribute value on the dimension set on columns.

It is also possible to display column descriptions different from the dimensionality of the cube. (For example where column descriptions are looked up via a combination of filter dimension(s) and the column dimension elements.

1.8. Cross-Drill Improvements

It is now possible to implement multiple cross-drills within a single view and selectively clear individual drill-downs or reset the view to remove all cross-drills.

2. Subset Editor

Apliqo UX now includes a subset editor. The subset editor can be launched by users in both "consumer mode" when viewing a dashboard report or planning screen and from "design mode" from within the view management app.

From within the view management app the subset editor allows an admin user to create a new subset or change the definition of an existing subset for immediate usage in the view definition.

From "consumer mode" the subset editor allows any user to change the selected elements on rows, columns or filter without changing the actual view definition.

Note: to apply the current selection in the subset editor to the active view any user can click "Apply". This will not impact the saved view definition. For authorized users only there is also a "Save" button which will not only change the current view selection but also update the view definition in the UX content store.

3. Advanced Conditional formatting

The table component now supports row specific and column specific formatting as well as conditional formatting.

Conditional Formatting based on cell values

Cell formatting can be set based on values coming from PA / TM1. Any format / style  ( image / text color / background color ), can be applied based on a different value or range of values.

Row Specific Formatting based on row header description

4. Active Filter-bar on Toolbar / Table Pop-ups

PopUp Widgets now allow filter element selection to be changed from the coordinates on the source screen that the PopUp was launched from.

If filter selections are changed within the PopUp then the selection will be updated upon dismissing the PopUp and returning to the underlying screen (There is also an option to turn-off the automatic update to the underlying screen).

5. Widgets Improvements

5.1. Bubble Chart

Bubble Charts are now supported as a visualization option.

5.2. Stacking Dimensions on Line / Column/ Bar Charts

Chart widgets now support stacked column dimensions. In the example below the columns are defined as a tuple of stacked year and month dimensions.

5.3. Cube Viewer

Apliqo UX comes with a new Cube Viewer widget .

The Cube viewer allow to explore any saved view, and also allows to publish new views based on changes on the App.

6. Widgets & Reports Titles and MDX Statements with Formulas

The UX Version 2.1 offers a new feature to facilitate interaction and dependencies  between widgets , by enabling using values from the application into MDX formulas.

At the same way, you can use the same Formula syntax to create dynamic headers.

7. Views Management app improvements

7.1. Sorting of Apps & Views

The View Management App now provides a hierarchical representation of the content store. The order of display of individual screens within an App menu can be easily changed via simple drag & drop to re-arrange components within the View Management App itself.

7.2. Improved User Experiences on Drag & Drop Configuration

The View Definition Drag * Drop zone was completely re-factored , in order to offer more simple way to build applications.

Each field comes with a dedicated tool-tip   , only relevant fields will appear on each section.

In addition , each widget will show specific descriptions / Drop Zones according to the required configuration.

8. Improved Turbo-Integrator Integration

A new TI Process Widget has been introduced which allows customization of:

  • Dialog caption
  • Parameter captions
  • Show/hide by parameter
  • Parameter input options
  • Parameter validation
  • Customizable success/failure message
  • Wait for process confirmation or run process in background
9. Styled Toolbar Custom Buttons

Toolbar PopUp buttons now support individual button styling.

  • Button caption
  • Button color
  • Font color
  • Icon

Note: All button styling options can be made conditional. (For example standard workflow buttons with conditional color and caption based on current workflow status). Buttons can also be hidden based on conditional criteria (e.g. user not authorized).
