New Features and Enhancements

1. Flexible Layout

In the Apliqo UX 2020.08 release users have now the ability to use the flexible layout feature on dashboards. This allows widgets to be resized with a drag handle and snapped to a grid as well as changing widget position on the page via dragging.  All the changes are immediately visible.

Widgets dynamically adjust their content to fit into the available space. For more accurate positioning, when the flexible layout is turned on, grid lines appear. This feature allows for more flexible dashboard design, for example with one widget spanning the height of multiple other widgets on the same screen.

Flexible layout is available through the layout settings button which has been changed to allow for the additional options associated with the new dashboard design mode

Example use of flexible layout:

This functionality allows to create dashboards tailored to individual needs.

After upgrading to this version, all existing dashboards will keep their original layout and settings. To use flexible layout on existing dashboards you must manually decide to convert them 1 by 1 to the new option as each dashboard will require individual editing.

2. Cube Viewer

The Cube Viewer now allows:

Cube and TM1 instance selection from the drop down list

Expanding and collapsing consolidations in columns as well as rows

Note the ability to expand/collapse on consolidations in column headers has also been added to grid widgets and planning views.

Available alternative hierarchies can be selected and dragged to column or rows area

Access to the subset editor

3. New Subset Editor

3.1. Greater Accessibility

The subset editor is accessible:

  • directly from filter bar
  • for every available row or column dimension in each widget (options are available to disable subset editor to change row and column selections to enforce a fixed layout).

Subset editor is available after turning on the edit mode, as shown above or through the cube settings, like in older versions

3.2. New Functionalities

  • Copying and pasting elements

Elements can be freely moved in the list via dragging or copy/paste

  • Choosing multiple attributes to be displayed
  • Setting a default value for filter or fixed dimensions
  • Using selected attribute as the display alias
  • Editing Attributes. Attribute values can now be changed directly in the subset editor using Attribute edit mode (providing of course that the user has the required security permissions to directly edit attributes)
4. Waterfall Chart Improvements

Waterfall charts have been improved with the following functionalities:

  • Users can now drill on every element of a waterfall chart

Use breadcrumbs to navigate back to previous step on the drill path

  • Comments added in grid widgets are displayed also in charts

As the waterfall chart dynamically calculates the variance between 2 series in order to plot the steps on the chart you can choose in the advanced options whether commentary should be displayed from the 1st series versus the 2nd series.

5. Small Multiple Chart

The 2020.08 release introduces a new widget called Small Multiple.

  • It's now possible to display multiple charts in one widget depending on available space. For easier configuration their settings can be adjusted at the same time

It’s also possible to make changes individually per chart and have different chart types in one small multiple widget

6. Single cell widget

This version provides another new widget: "Single DBR", that displays single cell value from a cube.

  • If the cell is writable, values can be changed in the widget; either by manually entering them or changing with the slider option
  • By default the values will change depending on the global filters selected by the user
  • Displayed values resize automatically depending on the size of the widget
7. Support for localization

Users are now able to change language in which element aliases and other attribute values are displayed.

8. Minor Improvements

8.1. TI process widget

  • Fields can now be set as mandatory and the process button will not be active until the user fills them in with a non empty value (other validations can also be configured)
  • Users can set custom TI completion pop-ups using javascript callbacks that can be added by changing custom-functions.service.js

8.2. Highlighting currently chosen element

8.3. Expand and collapse consolidations in columns

8.4. Action menu

Access to widget options has been organized differently and is now available under Action Menu.

As in previous versions, after turning on the edit mode, more options are available
